Alright, the videos I promised. Here are the links to my poems from that night in the Nile restaurant in Richmond. I hope everything is working with the sound and nothing is cut off. I haven’t watched it to proof it or anything because I feel strange watching myself. I’m one of those people that equates the sound of their own voice to nails on an emery board. Not quite as bad as a chalk board, but worthy of avoidance when possible.I repeat, I had SO much fun in Richmond, VA this past weekend. I originally went because the family of churches I’m a part of was having a statewide Bible Talk Leaders’ Retreat in the city, and then my friend (who is also a part of one of the campus ministries), let me know he was hosting a poetry night that weekend. What a sweet package-deal.Walking down the city streets at night after doing cool stuff that a girl from Gaston, SC never got the opportunity to do, I felt like the theme from “Living Single” should have been playing the entire time. Without further delay, I present to you, my first recorded performance. May there be more in the future…and may they steadily improve ❤
…I watched the first 3 seconds, and the recording starts a tad late. The first words:
If these walls could talk, they'd say the words we used to before silence exploded and rendered us mute.
Almost Just Right
